Under the direction of François Bernard, the theme of the Maison et Objet 2016 is WILD and emerged after a meeting with members of the Observatory Maison & Objet, where François shared his feeling of brotherhood between the soft power and raw, crude and sophisticated.
Space will open to the original idea of the wild, with the evocation of the deep forest. It will continue with the idea of a savagery of the city in its interstices, but also in domestic architecture and landscapes business. The last part of the exhibition deals with a more spiritual dimension of the theme around the sacred and the ritual.
M&O DESIGNER OF THE YEAR 2016
The honored designer of the show will be Eugeni Quitllet, a Catalan designer who readily describes himself as a “Disoñador,” a contraction of the Spanish words for designer and dreamer. From object to space, Quitllet is a design maestro with a unique vision for rethinking our surroundings with ever-evolving innovation.
In 2011, Eugeni Quitllet took off, opened his studio in Barcelona and delighted the design world with his cheerful signature style: “I love that creativity sympathetically addresses uses and people.” His sentimental design doesn’t neglect ecology, since it uses all manner of precious materials, starting with plastic, which can bring beauty and usefulness to many.
This new division of the sectors makes it easier for the visitor to have the feeling that the exhibition is in a store format and more like ride between galleries. Now that the Maison & Objet 2016 dates have been announced, it’s time to get to know more about the sectors of the show and see exactly what you can find there. There are plenty of reasons to attend to M&O Paris, starting with a fantastic and exclusive range of exhibitors.
