THANK YOU !
FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MODERN FLOOR LAMPS
Ryan Murphy’s Beach House was featured in Architectural Digest, and showed everyone his passion for design. So, due to its stunning mid-century lighting designs, we decide there’s an absolute need to share his California dream house with all of you!
Ready to feel inspired by this modern house?
The California dream house was designed by legendary local architect Mark Singer on two acres of land with panoramic views of the Pacific and had served as a kind of design laboratory for Ryan Murphy. “Set on a stunning plot of land, the Laguna home was always a dream, purchased with my first real money” explained the writer.
Every 12 months, Ryan tried a different version of his California dream. In the kitchen, you can find a monumental 1950s clay sculpture of Paul Robeson.
The Swedish dining table that serves as a desk in Murphy’s office. The leather-and-mahogany armchair and the Angelo Lelli table lamps provide a mid-century vibe.
The living room is tremendously stunning. The mirrored artwork reflects a mix of mid-century furnishings. The floor lamp graces this gorgeous space with its color.
The den’s velvet sofa and plaster table lamp look amazing with the Brazilian leather chair and ottoman from JF Chen.
Amy is a tribute to the great British singer and songwriter. Outlined by the black of her hair and her round earring… The inside is in gold like her golden voice. The irreverent floor version is a reading lamp, perfect to enjoy with your favorite book in any setting.
In the guest bedroom, the piece that stands out in the room is the Saturne lamp by Serge Mouille and the antique wood stump chair.
The white fiberglass tub that anchors the master bath and all the other furniture pieces together transmit a luxurious atmosphere.
The master bedroom’s sliding glass doors open to a terrace featuring a pair of vintage wrought-iron rocking chairs.
Sling chairs join the pool pavilion’s concrete fireplace. The bronze side table together with the two mid-century floor lamps looks perfect together.
A midcentury daybed offers an ideal spot to unwind by the pool, which was designed by Mark Singer and updated by John Davis.
