Let us start the week on the right foot, and talk about an amazing refurbished Chelsea cottage that features some beautiful lighting designs. One on these designs is a very modern floor lamp that takes the newly decorated living room to the next level.

The refurbishment of the 2,000 square foot cottage was carried out during a 6 month period by The Olive Design Studio and then went on to be sold at sealed bids, being let in just a matter of days!

Located on Godfrey Street, this modern cottage’s whole project was managed by the studio from concept through completion, which included the designing of all the bathrooms, kitchen and even the joinery!

Rustic as would be expected for a cottage, the dining area still maintains a very modern style, highlighted by the choice of clean white for the walls and the use of contemporary lighting details, such as the black wall lamp we can see on the far right of the photo above.

The living room has got to be the focal point of the whole home design. It is everything you could expect from a somewhat small but very stylish space. The rustic fireplace is completed with a few wood details, such as the flower vase on top and the coffee table just across it. A special attention should be made to the dark gray mid-century sofa and the very modern and trendy floor lamp just right next to it.

During the decorating phase, The Olive Design Studio made sure to provide a kind of “dress for sale” furniture and floral styling service. This made possible to create a more intimate and lifestyle look, with very appealing aesthetics.

We can see how in the master bedroom the floral theme is graciously kept. The green of the plants works great with the stone-gray table lamps and the pastel colors around the room.

Finally, all the bathrooms were thought to be in harmony with the rest of the home decor, transporting all that cozy and modern atmosphere into its design. For that reason, we can see a repetition of the pastel and gray color schemes, as well as the flowers, which are a constant and soothing presence throughout the house.
