FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MODERN FLOOR LAMPS
Today we are going to show the exquisite Paris apartment of Hilary Swank. The actress has purchased a Left Bank home that blends traditional charm and contemporary design. But, what really caught our attention were the stunning lighting designs that gave a unique glitter to this space.
Ready? Take a look and fall in love with this gorgeous interior design.
Hilary Swank fell in love with Paris, with its light, its architecture, its pastries, its beauty, and so she did what any woman in love would do… She began to set down roots and purchased an apartment in a historic building on the Left Bank.
With its soaring ceilings, polished herringbone floors, intricate moldings, marble fireplaces, and large windows, the apartment has the beautiful bones and soft filtered light that herald the European capital’s best spaces.
There’s a sense of mid-century flair and modern edge throughout the apartment that you can see in the retro daybeds with sleek, in the geometric profiles that punctuate the living space and the dining room and in the legs of cane-black round side chairs that are sheathed in blue lacquer.
The jewel-inspired colors have a strong presence, due to the actress’s passion for the sea. “Hilary likes an organic touch,” says Huynh. “Wood, stones, and she loves everything related to the sea.” The contemporary design stands out along with rich colors like sapphire, emerald, turquoise and aquamarine that appear throughout the space.
“It’s a bit inspired by Saul Bass, a graphic designer from the ‘60s, so monochrome tones mixed with bright colors, and the combination is a little bit vintage.” Huynh says.
This richly upholstered velvet sofa Dominique Roitel for Henryot & Cie adds a vibrant burst in a black-and-white corner of the living room.
In the living room, the daybeds are covered in cobalt and aquamarine silk velvets, while azure curtains hang at the windows. This gorgeous daybed was designed by Axel Huynh and the modern floor lamp is by Serge Mouille, giving it a unique touch to this living space.
While the original plan was for Huynh to design a piece of furniture for the home, his role quickly morphed into that of an interior designer. “He has this joie de vivre that I instantly gravitated toward,” says Swank, who met Huynh at Art Basel, in Miami.
