Elena Dobrovolska from dreamdesign studio has brought life to a vacation house near Kiev, Ukraine, with the most amazing lighting designs, turning it into the Maison de Charme – a family dwelling with character.

Dreamdesign has conceived the house like an open space with high ceilings and a large square area that allow a play in a scale, proportions, and geometry.

The first thing that draws attention in the living room are the ceilings, which are high enough to accommodate an impressive fireplace. Checkered rug by Vivienne Westwood made for The Rug Company incorporates all color shades used in the interior.

To add character to the space, which is designed in soft colors, the architects opted for complex color shades when choosing textiles, furniture, and lighting — avoiding any excessive details and creating light features. The chairs by Giorgetti create a vibrant mood in the dining room.

To make the interior look less dry, it was filled with design objects with distinctive character. Exquisite furniture from Giorgetti is accompanied by sculptural objects by Riva1920, a company that turns natural wood into masterpieces.

The swimming pool area is lit with lamps by Frank Gehry. A monumental panel with tortoises that symbolize wisdom and prosperity serves an additional symbolic element of design.

All design details in the house are in harmony and reflect the main idea of the author, which is the idea of design beyond time that is never out of fashion.
