THANK YOU !
FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MODERN FLOOR LAMPS
Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri, owners of the design studio called Something, have two stunning lighting designs that will make you fall in love instantaneously: a modern floor lamp called “stage” and desk lamp called “momento”. They presented this two product last year for Normann Copenhagen.
Something is based in London and Verona and has worked within various fields of design ranging from objects to spaces.
“Stage” is a flexible light that expresses the natural gesture of pointing the light where needed. The dome containing the light source evolves from a very rational conic shape smoothly into a practical handle on the top, which can be used to direct the light beam, almost like in professional photography lights.
This floor lamp features a big head opposed to a very slim body, slightly and nicely disproportionated. It comes in four different neutral colors: black, white, grey and blue.
“Momento” is a simple and intuitive lamp with a light positioning system.
The dome containing the light source, presents some sort of a crest with the switch just next to it, allowing for an intuitive and straightforward interaction. A simplification play on the archetype of the desk lamp, resulting in a curious object, suitable for both the home and public space.
It was inspired by the fishing rod holders and allows to split the lamp into two elements: the tubular element paired with the dome slides that rotates while the base stays ready and form.
